Play is fundamental for early learning. The 2019 NZTC Symposium will advocate the vital role of play in children’s early years with plenaries and practical workshops to support the professional development of educators and carers of young children.
The Power of Play program features international keynote speaker Professor Kathy Hirsh-Pasek. Kathy joins us at NZTC as an international expert on the importance of play in early childhood. She has dedicated her career to early childhood development research with a focus on learning and play, and actively works in partnership with Sesame Street, Lego and Disney Junior.
Drawing on her experience as a psychology professor and as a leading international voice, Kathy’s keynote address will focus on ‘A Prescription for Play: Why play fosters social and cognitive development’ and she will lead a workshop titled ‘Finding the learning in play’.
An array of early childhood professionals will present on the day with representatives from New Zealand Tertiary College, University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology to name just a few.
With only a few spots remaining, today is the day to register!
